Aftercare

Looking after
your extensions.

Good aftercare is most of the difference between extensions that last well and extensions that don't. This is general guidance, you'll be given advice for your specific fitting at your appointment.

01

Washing

Wash in the direction the hair falls rather than piling it on top of your head, and rinse thoroughly so no product is left sitting at the roots.

02

Brushing

Brush daily, holding the hair in your hand and working from the ends upwards. Little and often prevents tangling at the root area.

03

Drying

Dry the root area rather than leaving it damp. Take your time and keep the heat moderate.

04

Sleeping

Never sleep on wet hair. Loosely plait or tie the length before bed to stop it moving around overnight.

05

Heat styling

Use a heat protector and keep tools away from the attachment points.

06

Products

Choose gentle, sulphate-free products. Keep conditioner and oils on the mid-lengths and ends.

07

Swimming

Wet the hair with clean water first, tie it up, and rinse well afterwards, chlorine and salt water are drying.

08

Holidays

Sun, sea and pool time all take their toll. Pack a leave-in conditioner and plan a maintenance appointment for when you're back.

09

Maintenance appointments

Extensions need checking and refitting at regular intervals. Your timings are agreed at your consultation.

Method-specific care

To be added

Care instructions specific to each extension method will be added once the methods offered are confirmed, general advice only until then.
